Many of you know that BU now offers a substance abuse counselor’s training program (previously offered by State of Nebraska, it is very, very low cost (since it’s funded) so only a few dollars an hour for this program OR FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS for any type of counselor as well. If you don’t have your CEU hours for this fall’s renewal date, BU is offering a week long, 45 CEU HOURS, for a minimal fee, less than you’d pay for a one day seminar anywhere. All you need to do is go onto Bellevue University’s website and look under their SUDT program (again these certified CEUs are for all, whether you are an addictions counselor, mental health counselor, needing any type of CEUs). Just didn’t know if you were aware of this. They have courses year round and these are listed on their site. The group (45 hr course) begins March 9-14th (good way to get all your courses done in one week).

One last comment: These courses have a variety of settings: in class (Lozier campus off of 120th/Maple), webinar, combinations. Again they are for any counselor (beginning or advanced licensed).

PLEASE NOTE: I checked with the Licensing State Board (NDHHS) and want to make sure you check with your State Board as amount or types of CEUs necessary for LMHPs may be very different than LADCs or LSWs. Please always verify with the State Board Licensing requirements and their updated CEU memorandum to make absolutely sure first!
