Journey Authentically With Those In Grief

In this Lunch & Learn, Misty Gasa will identify essential interpersonal skills when engaging in Companioning with a client who is grieving including authenticity, transparency and equality. She will identify the use of appropriate communication skills when supporting someone in grief including verbal language, body language, facial expressions and gestures. Misty will identify creative healing processes when helping clients in the grieving process including art therapy, mindfulness and personal touch.
Misty Gasa has been in the helping/healing field for over 20 years and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults and the elderly: working in the Omaha Metro community in homeless shelters, hospitals, schools, hospice agencies and homes for many years. She has volunteered as a Foster Care Review Board member, Grief’s Journey Group Facilitator and Women’s issues Advocate. Misty opened her private practice, Gasa Therapy LLC, in January 2018.
